Sahiban Saftami celebrated with religious fervour, gaiety

JAMMU, Jan 14: Sahiban –Saftami (Nirwan Diwas) of Mata Shree Roopbhawani was celebrated with religious fervor and gaiety today.
In this connection religious functions were organized at Mata Shree Roopbhawani Temples, Talab Tillo, and Sharda Colony Patoli Brahmana today. The Hawans were performed at both the shrines by respective committees.
Shri Alakh Sahiba Trust organized Hawan in which devotees from all over UT participated with full fervor and enthusiasm. An incarnation of Shree Sharika Bhagwati, the Adishthatri deity of Kashmir has the devotee followings throughout the world. This day is celebrated to pay homage to Mata Shree Roopbhawani popularly known as Alakh Sahiba or Rauf Ded. Mata Shree Roopbhawani, considered her father Pt. Madhoo Joo Dhar as her Guru and Lal Ded as Param Guru. Mata Shree enlightened Kashmiri Society with her mystic Wakhs which showed the path of self realization and Moksha from this world.
Celebrations of Hawan started from the mid night of January 13 at Tirath Nagar with Kalash Pooja. Devotees assembled throughout the night. Whole campus reverberated with the singing of Bhajans and Mata Shree Roopbhawani‘s Aradhana.
Simultaneous functions, inspite of hard chilly indiscriminate weather conditions, were solemnized in all Taposthalls – Cheshma Shibi, Waskurw, Manigram, Lar and Janambhoomi in Srinagar/Kashmir.
On this occasion in culmination of the 400th Prakash Utsav (Aaverbhav) of Mata Shree Roop Bhawani Ji, a souvenir, detailing the activities undertaken by Shri Alakh Sahiba Trust to celebrate the 400th Aaverbhav Divas of Mata Shree, was released today on the auspicious occasion of 302nd Nirvan Divas (Sahiban Saftami) in the premises of Mata Shree Roop Bhawani Bhawan, Tirath Nagar, Talab Tillo,.
Hawan culminated after Puran Ahuti and thereafter Prashad was served to the devotees.
At Sharda Colony Patoli Brahmana, the Hawan started yesterday and culminated with Puranahuti this afternoon which was followed by serving of Prashad to devotees. The day long bhajan Kirtan was held in the temple and the religious scholars threw light on spiritual life of Mata.
