MENDHAR, Aug 30: Sagra Balnoi village road has been lying in dilapidated condition inviting accidents in Mendhar sub-division of Poonch district.
Reports said that a large number of people of this area are facing problems due to the dilapidated condition of the road leading to Balnoi and Sagra border villages in Mankote sub sector of Mendhar area. The potholes on the road and filled with muddy rain water invite accidents, causing severe risk to the lives of people living in the area.
Local villagers Mustafa Khatana, Mohammad Tanveer and others accusing the GREF department, alleged that for the last many years the condition of this road is dilapidated. No bidy takes pains. There is movement of hundreds of vehicles daily, so many times bike riders have been victim of an accident. They said that this route is also used by the army because the area is the last corner of Mendhar near LoC.
People have urged the Lt Governor of the Union Territory of Jammu Kashmir to intervene into the matter and issue instructions to the concerned agencies to repair this road.
