Sagar for speeding up of development projects

SRINAGAR, Jan 18: Minister for Rural Development and Panchayats, Ali Mohammad Sagar today directed the officers to speed up the pace of work on various projects undertaken for ensuring sustained development and beautification of the Srinagar city.
The Minister was addressing officers during a high level meeting convened to discuss the status of various developmental projects undertaken for beautification and development of Srinagar city. It was attended by Chief Planning Officer, Srinagar, Chief Engineer UEED, General Manager JKPCC and other senior officers.
The Minister directed the officers to work in close coordination to ensure timely completion of the projects taken for the benefit of the people. He said that bottle necks, if any, should be removed so that these are completed in accordance with the set procedure and the timelines.
Mr. Sagar asked the officers of JKPCC to speed up the work on the Community Halls being constructed at Koolipora and Daulatabad and ensure their timely completion so that the people living in these areas get the requisite facilities for celebrating social and other related functions. He directed for ensuring the completion of community hall at Koolipora by end of the March.
The Minister also asked for speeding up the pace of work on the College Complex at Bagh-i-Dilawar Khan in the old city for which an amount of Rs. 1.5 crore has been released to the JKPCC. He said that officers should also undertake the work on the community hall being constructed at Namachbal in the vicinity of the College.
Mr. Sagar also directed for early completion of the Zaina Kadal bridge and also the projects being undertaken for the beautification of the Zaina Kadal area on heritage project as it would go a long way in ensuring that the area comes up on the tourist map and people get benefitted.
The Minister was told that the civil work at the new Masjid at Dastgeer Sahib (RA) has been completed. It was also given out that the new restored and renovated shrine of Dastgeer Sahib (RA) would be dedicated to the public on the upcoming Urs.
Later, the Minister met deputations from different parts of the valley which include Anantnag, Kulgam, Budgam, Ganderbal, Kupwara and Pulwama.
Interacting with the deputationists, the Minister assured them that all their genuine grievances would be redressed in a phased manner.
