This has reference to the news item ‘Physically challenged persons have right to work at safe places’ DE Feb 4.
It is the duty of the State Government to ensure that the physically challenged section of our society has safe working conditions. Since they too contribute in the nation building process, they should be provided all sort of help. But it is quite dismaying that the Government offices in the State do not have such facilities for them. This section of society has vociferously raised these issues time and again, but no body pays attention to their problems. The Government should frame a policy for these people wherein it may have provisions for lifts, wheel-chairs and ramps so that they do not suffer any inconvenience in their movement.
