JAMMU, May 4: A protest demonstration was staged today by the Safai Karamcharis of Jammu Cantonment Board against the alleged misdeeds of Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Cantonment Board, Jammu, Deepak Mohan.
The protesting safai karamcharis raised slogans against the CEO, Cantt Board, Jammu, for allegedly favouring some employees in making promotions by taking huge amount of bribe and ignoring seniority.
They alleged that though Deepak Mohan has been transferred to Siliguri vide dated 22-04-2016 but with the connivance of other officers he has issued a back date order 20-04-2016 regarding the promotion of the employees namely Ajeet Kumar (Mazdur conservancy) as Mali vide order No 2 dated 20/4/2016 and Jang Bahl Khan (Safai Karamchari) as Chowkidar vide order No 3 dated 20/4/2016 violating all the service rules.
The protesting Karamcharis alleged that all these wrong doings have been done hurriedly as the huge amount of bribe has been taken in lieu of said promotions.
Later on, the agitating employees led by Rajesh Bakshi, Member, Ward No 6, approached president, Cantt Board, Jammu, Brig Randhir Singh with their grievances, who assured that he will look into the matter and sort all the problems within three days.
On the assurance of the president, Cantt Board, Jammu, the agitators called off their strike and resumed their duties. The agitating employees demanded that a thorough investigation should be done to probe their misdeeds and promotion of employees should be streamlined by seniority.
