UDHAMPUR, Nov 4: Urban Local Body Safai Karamchari Union Udhampur today held a protest demonstration in front of the office of Municipal Committee Udhampur seeking resolution of their long pending demands.
The protesting employees raised slogans in support of their demands. They accused the J&K Government as well as the district administration of not considering their long pending demands for which they had given notices to the concerned authorities but there was no positive response.
They were demanding regularization of all eligible sanitation workers who have completed their temporarily services for more than 7 years, cancellation of the NPS (Pension) and adopt the Old Pension Scheme, immediately solve the cases which fall under SRO 43, create new posts for Safai Karamcharis in the Municipal Council/ Committees and cancelling the works of contractors.
David, District President of the Union, stressed that the long pending demands must be considered immediately otherwise the strike will continue and the administration would be responsibility for the same.
