Sadhotra urges Guv to appoint SC member in J&K PSC

JAMMU, Dec 19: Ajay Sadhotra, former Minister and senior National Conference (NC) leader, in a letter addressed to the Governor, has demanded nomination/appointment of a Scheduled Caste (SC) member in the J&K PSC.
In the letter, Sadhtora said many delegations of youth belonging to Scheduled Caste Community have met him and apprised that in absence of a member from SC Community in Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission, their interests could not be protected as SC Member of the J&K Public Service Commission, Lal Chand has retired since long.
Sadhotra said that since the inception of J&K Public Service Commission, there is a practice to nominate/appoint one of the members of the Commission from Scheduled Caste Community. He requested Governor Satya Pal Malik that a member from SC Community be nominated/ appointed in J&K Public Service Commission in order to instill confidence in the SC Community before conducting interview for the posts of Combined Compet-itive Services (KAS/KPS).
