JAMMU, Aug 9: Senior leader of National Conference and former Minister Ajay Sadhotra has strongly condemned the arrest of National Conference president and vice president and former Chief Ministers, Dr Farooq Abdullah and Omar Abdullah.
National Conference leader said it is unfortunate that leaders of main stream and premier political party have been arrested. He said instead of taking main stream political leaders on Board, BJP Government has arrested them. This is highly undemocratic and unprecedented.
Sadhotra said BJP still loudly condemns arrests during 1975 Emergency in the country but it is very sad, highly condemnable and unfortunate that BJP has created emergency like situation in the state especially in Kashmir, creating history after 1975.
National Conference leader demanded that Dr Farooq Abdullah and Omar Abdullah and all the political leaders including former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti be released before Eid.
He further demanded that in Kashmir, medical emergency and other essential services be restored/allowed and relaxation in curfew be given so that people could get eatables.
He appealed to the people to keep cool and calm and maintain communal brotherhood at all costs.
