JAMMU, May 5: Shiromani Akali Dal J&K has constituted its units/ wings in Jammu and Kashmir to serve the peoples of the State in general and Sikh community in particular in the political, religious and social field.
While addressing a press conference here today Darbinder Singh, president Shiromani Akali Dal J&K said that he has constituted Shiromani Youth Akali Dal, Istri Akali Dal, Sikh Students Federation J&K. He further said that all the nominated wings shall work under the supervision of Mahant Manjit Singh Ji of Shiromani Dera Nangali Sahib, Poonch.
He disclosed that Kuldip Kour has been nominated as president Istri Akali Dal J&K unit, Gurmeet Kour as senior vice president, Gurmeet Kour Ex-Sarpanch as general secretary of Istri Akali Dal J&K; Harpreet Singh Chotu as president Shiromani Youth Akali Dal J&K, Mandeep Singh as senior vice president, Gagandeep Singh advocate, general secretary, Manjit Singh – joint secy while Mohinder Pal Singh as cahier.
Harpreet Singh lucky has been nominated as president Sikhs Students Federation J&K, Amanpreet Singh senior vice president, Gurvinder Pal Singh as general secretary, Jaspal Singh joint secretary, Damanpreet Singh as cashier. The new heads of these Sikh bodies also spoke on the occasion.
Kuldip Kour said that Istri Akali Dal should work for the welfare and betterment of the Sikh women and their upliftment in social and public life. Harpreet Singh Chotu said that their organization shall work for the welfare of the community.
Harpreet Singh said the organization will fight against injustice and try to maintain unity among the Sikh youth. He said SSF will nominate its units in the Schools, Colleges and Universities in Jammu and also try to preach religious education and education of Holy Guru Granth sahib which spread the message for love equality and selfless service to every citizen of J&K and India. He said that the Sikh students are requested to get quality education to build the nation strong.
Sarpanch, Surinder Singh Kala, Gajan Singh, Mohinder Singh, Paramjeet Singh, Ravinder Singh Sarpanch, Yudhvir Singh, Rajinder Singh, Raja Singh member DGPC Jammu, Jagjeet Singh, Manmohan Singh, Kulwant Singh and others were also present.
