Sacrilegious act in Kheri

JAMMU, Apr 6: A sacrilegious act was today reported from village Kheri in Nagrota.
As per police sources, some people noticed parts of the body of an animal including eyes and tail, which had been damaged by using some sharp-edged weapons in village Kheri near Nagrota.
The people informed the police and later took to road and held protest demanding immediate arrest of the accused within 48 hours.
After getting information, DC Jammu Simrandeep Singh and senior police officials including SSP Jammu Dr Sunil Gupta rushed to the spot and pacified the agitators assuring them the culprits will be arrested soon.
Police have registered a case under relevant Section at Nagrota police station and started investigations.
Peace was restored in the area after assurance by the police that the accused will be arrested shortly.
