S.Korea sees stimulus plans boosting 2016 GDP by 0.2 to 0.3 pct pts

SEOUL, July 22:  South Korea’s gross domestic product growth this year will likely benefit by 0.2 to 0.3 percentage points from the government’s proposed 11 trillion won supplementary budget and fiscal reinforcement stimulus plans, the finance minister said on Friday. The comments by Finance Minister Yoo Il-ho were made in a press conference shortly after South Korea said it will submit its extra budget to parliament next week. The outlook was unchanged from the government’s previous forecast made in June when it announced there would be a supplementary budget. The government’s growth forecast for this year currently stands at 2.8 percent. (AGENCIES)
