Russian Govt resumes visa, flights for Indians

NEW DELHI/MOSCOW: The Russian Government has resumed issuing visa to Indian national as well as allowed flight connectivity between the two countries, an official release has said.

“?issuing of visas of all categories (including student visa) to enter Russia via air checkpoints is resumed for the Indian citizens, as well as for residence permits,” the release said.

However, the e-visa is temporarily suspended until an appropriate directive, the Russian Government said. The flights between the two countries have been resumed and will operate twice a week.

“?the Russian Government issued directives on January 25, 2021, allowing international air traffic on a reciprocal basis with a number of states including India,” the release said.

The visas and international flights were suspended since March last when Covid-19 outbroke in India. Russia attracts Indian students for higher studies, particularly in medical sciences. (AGENCIES)
