Rural Banquet Halls Association seeks financial package

JAMMU, June 18: All J&K Rural Banquet Halls Association held a meeting under the chairmanship of its President Gurbachan Singh.
In the meeting, all the proprietors of the banquet halls falling in the rural areas participated and discussed the problems being faced by them during the lockdown period.
It is pertinent to mention here that during the lockdown period, District Magistrate issued an order directing all the banquet halls owners to not hold any kind of function in their halls. Keeping in view this situation, all the banquet halls immediately cancelled their bookings and did not hold any kind of function in their halls.
Due to lockdown, the banquet halls owners suffered lot of losses including payment of regular salaries to their employees, electricity bills and bank loans installments.
Thought the Government has announced a financial package for the sufferers, but unfortunately the banquet halls were left ignored in the package, he added.
Singh on behalf of the Association members has appealed to the Government to announce a suitable financial package for the banquet halls, permission to operate under strict guidelines viz exemption of electricity bills and other taxes as well.
