JAMMU, Jan 12: A free health-cum- eye check up camp was organised by Motor Vehicles Department, Jammu at Taxi Stand, Railway Station here today.
Regional Transport Officer, Pankaj Bhagotra was the chief guest and Additional SP Traffic Rajpal Singh was the guest of honour on the occasion.
As many as 200 drivers and conductors participated in the camp and availed themselves of the facility.
Speaking on the occasion, the RTO said that the aim of organising the medical camp was to spread awareness among drivers about personal health and hygiene along with medical checkup. He further said that such camps will be organised on regular basis and will include general body checkup especially sugar, blood pressure and eye checkup of drivers .
The event was also attended by ARTOs, MVIs, President Mini bus union, Secretary AJ&KTWA, president Jammu – Chhamb Bus union, Presidents of various Taxi unions besides drivers, conductors and general public.
