KATHUA, Dec 18: Regional Transport Officer Kathua has suspended the route permit No 390/MSC/RTOK of vehicle Number JK08A 4746.
The route permit of the vehicle was suspended by RTO Kathua after the vehicle carrying students of J K Public School Barwal met an accident at Jasrota yesterday in which four school children were injured.
The RTO took the action after the Chief Education Officer Kathua in a letter to him reported that the vehicle was not a school bus but a private matador.
The RTO in its order while charging the route permit holder of violation of route permit has mentioned it clearly that the vehicle has been plying and carrying school children in violation of the conditions specified in the Section 84 read with Section 86 of Motor Vehicles Act, 1998 and the rules framed there under and also violated the conditions of the permit hence the route permit is suspended for a period of three months.
The RTO has also given a show cause notice to the permit holder giving 15 days time to him to explain that why the permit should not be cancelled.
