RTI organizes orientation programme on BNS, BNSS, BSA 2023 and CPC 1908

JAMMU, Apr 22: A one-day orientation/training workshop organized for the Revenue Officers of Jammu Division was today held at Revenue Training Institute.
The programme was organized under the visionary guidance of Shaleen Kabra, Financial Commissioner (Revenue).
The workshop aimed at interactive session on Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) 2023; Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) 2023, Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam (BSA) 2023 and the Code of Civil Procedure, 1908.
In the inaugural address, Sunaina Sharma Mehta, Principal RTI Jammu, welcomed guest faculty.
She also stressed upon the officers, the need to enroll themselves with iGOT Karmayogi app and complete the scheduled relevant courses available at the portal, as per the instructions being issued from higher authorities from time to time.
“Our goal for this capacity building is to shift from “authority” to “duty”, keeping the principle of ‘Nagrikdevo Bhava’ at the heart of every decision,” she added.
During second session, a panel discussion was held on the various practical aspects of Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) 2023; Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) 2023, Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam (BSA) 2023 and the Code of Civil Procedure, 1908 with regard to the queries put forth by participating Revenue Officers and all queries were resolved upto the satisfaction of the officers.
During both sessions, Subash Gupta, Retd Districts and Sessions Judge delivered insightful lecture and threw light on important legal provisions and their practical applications in Revenue Administration which will help all the participating Revenue Officers in field functioning.
The workshop saw enthusiastic participation from Revenue Officers Tehsildars, Naib Tehsildars and other officials from various districts of the Jammu division.
Participants engaged actively in deliberations, fostering interactive discussions on real-world scenario.
The program was designed to bolster legal awareness and build the capacity of officers in navigating procedural and legal challenges in revenue matters.
The workshop concluded successfully with a vote of thanks by Rajesh Baru, Tehsildar, Revenue Training Institute, Jammu.
