JAMMU, May 11: Pressing for their long pending demand of relapsing COLA and Pay Commission arrears, All J&K RTC Volunteer Retired Employees Association held a protest demonstration and dharna, near Press Club Jammu, here today.

The porters, led by Dev raj Bali, President of VRS Association, raised slogans against the Government and RTC Management flaying their callous attitude towards the VRS retired employees who have not been given COLA and the 6th Pay commission arrears, till date.
They alleged that the Central Government provided funds to the UT Government for releasing their arrears but the same was not released further in their favour for the no reasons thus harassing the retired senior citizens.
The protesting VRS employees appealed the Lt Governor Manoj Sinha and Chief Secretary of J&K UT to personally intervene into the matter the resolve the issue at the earliest.
The protest demonstration was attended by Sat Bhushan Singh, Surinder Singh, Deep Raj, B B Sharma, Baldev Raj, Shiv Kumar, Ram Pal, Papu Bhan and others.
