Srinagar, Oct 6: Deputy Chief Minister, Dr. Nirmal Singh while replying to a question by Sofi Yousuf in the Legislative Council said that Deendayal Upadhaya Gram Jyoti Yojana (DDUGJY) for 21 districts of J&K State has been approved by the Monitoring Committee of Union Ministry of Power for an amount of Rs 530.08 crore for feeder separation, metering, system strengthening and providing electrification access to rural households and the scheme is to be implemented as per guidelines of DDUGJY within the stipulated time frame.
Meanwhile, Dy CM said Rs 8.90 lakh are required for replacement of 139 damaged distribution transformers in Kathua district.
In reply to a question by MLA Jeevan Lal, Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Nirmal Singh, who is incharge Power Minister said 139 damaged transformers are lying at different sites of Bani, Basohli and Billawar constituencies which are to be carried to divisional workshop in Kathua.
“In addition, 20 MVA, 66/11 KV Power Transformer is lying at Hatli Morh, Receiving Sub-Station for repair purposes. There is no sub-station in Bani constituency which is without electricity from five to six months,” he said.
