KATHUA, Dec 4:  Over Rs four lakh were seized by Lakhanpur Police from three youth of Kashmir valley during a naka at Lakhanpur early this morning.
Police said all the notes were in old currency of Rs 500 denomination. The police also seized 60 bottles of corex of 100ml each and 200 capsules of proxivon from the possession of youth at a naka at Lakhanpur.
The youth were traveling in an i 20 car bearing registration number DL2C-AE4738 from Delhi to Srinagar. But during the checking of the car at the naka at Lakhanpur police recovered Rs 1,24,500 from the vehicle in addition to corex bottles and capsules the banned drugs used for intoxication. Later, on the frisking of the youth the police recovered more Rs 3,66,600 from their possession.
The police arrested the trio and they have been identified as Mohammed Ajeem, S/o Manzur Ahmed, of Baba Demb, Srinagar, Abid Malik, S/o Fiordoz Ahmed of Hazratbal Srinagar and Amir Aziz S/o Azabo Din of Sadar Bal Hazratbal Srinagar.
The Lakhanpur Police has registered a case FIR No 110/2016 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act against them.
Sources said that police has started preliminary investigations in the matter and it is working on various theories to ascertain that the youth were not involved in whitening of the black money.
