JAMMU, June 19: Divisional Office Jammu of New India Assurance Company (NIAC) paid Rs. 30 lakh to Konkan Railways as accidental insurance claim for the death of one of their employees.
The deceased employee of Konkan Railways, Vijay Kumar from Doda, died due to an accident while working on the construction of Katra-Banihal rail track. The compensation amount paid was fixed by the Ministry of Railways.
Senior Divisional Manager NIAC, Dr. Daleep Pandita presented the cheque to the nominee of deceased in presence of Randhawa Suhag, Chief Engineer, Northern Railways and R.K Hegde, Chief Engineer of Konkan Railways at their Jammu headquarters.
Sanjeev Sharma, Marketing Head and Shamsher Singh, Claims Head from the insurance company and Sanjay Revenkar, Deputy General Manager, Mateen Ahmad, Secretary and P. Nagaranjan from Konkan Railways were also present on this occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Daleep Pandita assured railway authorities to help all such victims who lay their lives for the development of the nation, particularly working in difficult terrain.
He said NIAC has settled over 30,000 claims in the last financial year in J&K with 95 per cent claim settlement ratio which is a record achievement in the history of the general insurance industry in J&K.
