Rs 24.91 crore spent in Kupwara under RGGVY-I: Mir

Jammu, Apr 9: The Minister of State for Power Development, Mohammad Ashraf Mir said that Rajiv Gandhi Grameen Vidutikaran Yojana (RGGVY) is under implementation in Kupwara and Rs 24.91 crore have been spent  in the district under RGGVY (Phase-I) including Lolab constituency.
The Minister while replying to a question of Qaisar Jamsheed Lone in the Legislative Council today said that out of 250 transformers installed in Kupwara district under RGGVY (Phase-I), 106 are of 25 KVA capacity and 144 are of 16 KVA capacity. He said 94 transformers have been installed in Lolab constituency.
The Minister further said that creation/augmentation of a receiving station depends upon grid capacity, transmission line capacity and above all, feasibility of its creation/augmentation in a particular area, adding that the capacity of receiving stations feeding Hyhama, Kalaroos and Khurhama blocks is more than sufficient to cater to the agreement load demand of the consumers.
