Rs 20 lakh for Construction of Panchayat Bhawan Bhalla

JAMMU, Oct 12 : Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation, Raman Bhalla, has said that Government has released Rs 20 lakh for construction of Panchayat Bhawan at Bhour Kothey adding that the complex would be dedicated to the people by December this year.
This was stated by the Minister while addressing a large gathering of Sarpanchs and Panchs of Bhour Camp, Chatha and old Satwari at Bhour Kothey, here today.
Bhalla said that with the inauguration of the Panchayat Bhawan, the Sarpanchs and Panchs of the localities would arrange their interactive meeting there. He said the complex would have facilities of guest room, meeting hall, toilet block, kitchen, parking and lawn facilities. He impressed upon the executing agency to redouble their efforts for timely completion of the project.
The Minister said Government has released Rs. 113.56 crore under 13th Finance Commission for construction of 1135 Panchayat Ghar buildings in convergence with MGNREGA during 2011-12 and 2012-13. He informed the gathering that Government has already dedicated a Panchayat Bhawan to the Sarpanchs and Panchs at Rail Head, Jammu which has been constructed with a cost of Rs 1.48 crore.
Listing the measures taken by the Government to facilitate the people of Bhour Camp and Bhour Kothey and its adjoining areas, Bhalla said Government has recently dedicated two public utility complexes like Community Facility and Rural Sanitary. He said Government was keenly monitoring the development works through various development agencies for effective results.
The Minister said that Government has taken various exemplary  measures to improve the living standards of the rural pockets people. He said many more projects are in pipeline to provide succour to the ruralities through developmental schemes.
Referring to LPG issue, Bhalla said that the Government has already taken up the matter with the Union Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas for enhancing the cap of subsidized gas cylinders in the State in view of its tough geographical and topographical conditions.
