SAMBA, Mar 20: The Legal Metrology Department (LMD) imposed a fine of Rs 16,500 on a dozen traders for violating various provisions of Weights and Measures Enforcement (Amendment) Act.
An official spokesman said that the LMD team Samba led by Assistant Controller Anita Sharma during extensive market checking on Saturday booked a dozen traders and imposed a fine of Rs 16,500 on them. The fine was also realized from the defaulters on the spot.
