RRC visits migrant camps, interacts with inmates

JAMMU, May 22: To have at and on spot study of Kashmiri migrants’ problems, Relief and Rehabilitation, Commissioner T K Bhat visited various Muslim migrant Bastis at Nagrota, Sunjwan, Narwal and Samba today and interacted with them.
The RRC, while taking the stock of the preparations in connection with celebration of Eid -ul-Fitr informed them that besides providing advance ration the steps have been taken to make available all other essential items to the migrants on the occasion of the holy festival. The RRC also gave instructions to concerned officers to ensure all essential items in the colonies besides urged the people to take proper care of maintaining social distancing while celebrating the festival.
The RRC also visited the TRT Muthi where a programme was organized Ekta Bhawan Trust which besides honouring the RRC also highlighted some problems of the camp inmates. The RRC, while hearing the demands gave instructions to the officers concerned to take immediate steps in solving them. The Trust led by its president T N Koul also handed over a cheque of Rs 5100 to RRC to be donated to PM CARES.
The other Trust members present included M K Pandita, Manoj Sharma, C L Pandita, A K Raina, Satesh Pandita and King Ji.
