NEW DELHI, Dec 3: Member Secretary, Indira Gandhi National Centre for Arts (IGNCA) Dipali Khanna inaugurated Pashmina Royal Shawls exhibition organized by Jammu and Kashmir Handloom Development Corporation (JKHDC) here today.
A week long exhibition where a huge collection of hand spin, hand woven shawls and finest quality of silk & needle, hand embroidery collection of Pashmina Royal Shawls would be exhibited.
Ms. Dipali while appreciating the department said that the State Handloom Development Corporation has revived the traditional skill of hand spun, hand woven pashmina by developing a wide range of shawls in contemporary colours and designs. She said that the traditional variety of craft shawls displayed in the exhibition would attract more and more visitors as these are related to royal craft of Mughal, Afghan, Sikh and Dogra.
Speaking on the occasion MD, J&K HDC, Anal Kumar Gupta said that people of the Delhi would have an opportunity to have best and unique collection of Royal Pashmina Shawls at their door steps which are created by the efficient hands of Kashmiri artists.
Among others, General Manager J&K Handloom Development Corporation M. A. Gani were also present on the occasion.
