Royal Dogras, Infobug month long theatre workshop begins

JAMMU, Dec 1: A month-long theatre workshop has been organised by Royal Dogras in collaboration with Infobug here at Jammu Haat, near Dogra Chowk. Additional Secretary, JKAACL Dr. Arvinder Singh Aman and Sangeet Natak Akademi awardee, actor/ director, Mushtaq Kak inaugurated the workshop.
Actor/ Director Sandeep Verma and Amar Chouhan from the Infobug team were also present on the occasion.
Mohit Mehra will conduct this 30 days workshop. Having the experience in performing arts for more than 10 years, Mohit Mehra, a product of India Theatre Department of Punjab University Chandigarh, a theatre practitioner, actor and director will conduct the workshop. Best Director Award of 2021 annual drama festival organised by Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Arts, Culture and Languages (JKAACL), Mehra has participated in scores of national and international theatre festivals.
In his address, the Additional Secretary appreciated the organisers over holding this workshop as it will help a lot of budding talent who wants to be a part of performing arts. He congratulated the entire team of Royal Dogras and Infobug for their efforts in the field of theatre. While speaking during the occasion, Mushtaq Kak said that this workshop will be beneficial for those who want to learn theatre technicalities. He further said that aspiring artists must come out and get benefitted by this workshop. He extended his appreciation to organisers and wished for their other future endeavours.
During the inauguration of the workshop, Mohit Mehra stated that Jammu and Kashmir has immense talent and there is utmost need of providing them proper guidance and training to hone their talent. “In this month long theatre workshop, a comprehensive training will be provided that includes acting techniques and methods, learning to use body and voice for effective communication, developing imagination and observation as a habit, improvisation memory and creative thinking, developing a confident attitude, performing and practicing solo and multiple actor scenes, learning the technicalities of actor for stage, learning to be more expressive with your emotions, auditioning for professional assignments and developing body and mind as an creative artist.
