KATHUA, May 6: In the war against COVID-19 Rotary Club Jammu Tawi have joined hands with the Government and District Administrations to provide safety kits to frontline workers.
Today Rotarian of RC Jammu Tawi handed over 100 PPE kits to DC Kathua, OP Bhagat and CMO Samba Dr Sambyal in the presence of President Raman Sherpuri, DG&D Dr Dushyant Chaudhary, Rtn Harish Gulati and Rtn Parveen Singh.
On the occasion certificates of appreciation were also handed over to COVID-19 warriors.
DC Kathua appreciated the efforts of the Rotary Club, especially Harish Gulati donor of the kits and said that COVID warriors” of India have shown exemplary dedication in the fight against corona virus and healthcare professionals were like soldiers at the border fighting for health and freedom of people.
The volunteers of the club have also been involved in preparing food for the needy. A large number of ration kits have also been distributed in different areas of the city among the low-income segment of the society comprising of daily wage workers, migrant labourers, construction site workers, various old age homes, night shelters and poor ‘bastis’.
