‘Roll back income bar order for reservation’

JAMMU, July 19: Pahari leader, Nadeem Rafiq Khan has alleged discrimination in the recent Government order wherein Pahari people falling in income slab of Rs. 8 lakh were barred from availing 4 per cent reservation benefits.
In a handout Khan stated that Pahari community lives in Poonch, Rajouri, Uri, Karnah and Anantnag areas of J&K and includes Hindus, Sikhs and Muslims speaking Pahari dialect.
He appealed to J&K Government to roll back the income bar order for reservation to Paharis and claimed that after 40 years of struggle Pahari community had succeeded in getting 4 per cent reservation.
