Rohella advises teachers to focus on upgradation of knowledge

3-week Induction Training Prog concludes at GCoE

JAMMU, June 22: Three-week long Induction Training Programme for newly appointed Assistant Professors of different subjects concluded in the Government College of Education today.
Secretary Higher Education Department Talat Parvez Rohella was the chief guest on the occasion and while addressing the valedictory function of the Induction Training Programme he laid stress on organizing more such training programmes. He also asked for inculcating new modes of teaching such as digital and flipped classrooms and advised the teachers to upgrade their knowledge through such programmes.
Principal of Government College of Education Jammu Prof (Dr) Sangita Nagari, in her welcome address, said that teaching fraternity is the back bone of higher education system and it becomes imperative for a teacher to upgrade his/her knowledge through such training programmes.
The three-week Induction Training Programme was coordinated by Dr Zubair Kales and Dr Shubhra Jamwal. The training programme was conducted from May 27 to June 22 at the conference hall of College and each day was divided into 4 sessions—-2 sessions from invited speakers/resource persons, one report session and one session of presentation by one of the participants.
The topics were presented by eminent and experienced resource persons (Academicians, Administrators, ex-Principals, Civil Servants) from different institutions like University of Jammu, Constituent Colleges of Cluster University of Jammu, MIER College, Government College of Education and Finance Department.
