Road show held to seek vote for Madan

JAMMU, Mar 31: In order to seek support for the joint candidature of Jammu-Poonch Lok Sabha seat, Madan Lal Sharma, National Conference today organized a road show at Swankha in Vijaypur Constituency.
Minister for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control and Chairman Congress Election Campaign Committee Sham Lal Sharma, local MLA and senior NC leader, Surjeet Singh Slathia also took part in the road show along with hundreds of NC workers, Sarpanchs and Panchs.
The road show started from Swankha Morh and culminated at Village Swankha followed by a mammoth public meeting.
Speaking on the occasion, Sham Lal Sharma said that Coalition is need of the hour as no single party either in the Centre or State can form the Government. This arrangement is also prevalent in the state during the past five years and both Congress and National Conference are working with close coordination, adding that this is in the larger interests of people of the State. The coalition Government headed by the young and energetic Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah has taken several revolutionary decisions during the past five years, prominent among these, creating large number of administrative units, empowering Panchayats and improving the public service. He called for further strengthening the coalition in the State so that the Government can deliver more affectively, he maintained.
Slathia while criticizing the BJP and PDP said that both these parties play the politics of vote bank and exploit the sentiments of innocent people. He described the PDP as an opportunistic party and said that party has deceived the people and given only hollow slogans.
Among those who addressed the gathering included Om Parkash Attri, Choudhary Tirath Ram, Ram Paul, Rangeel Singh, Ajay Sharma, Riaz Malik and Sarpanch and Panchs hailing from the Vijaypur constituency.
Later, the Minister also addressed election meetings at village Ghaink Jagir, Dhok Jagir, Pangyari, Raja Chack, Bandral Khurad, Sungal-Sumah.
Minister asked the workers to make united efforts to ensure the victory of Madan Lal Sharma in the Parliament election.
