RAJOURI, Dec 17: The workers of Dharam Raj Constructions, engaged to construct road from Rajouri to Bafliaz via Thannamandi held protest demonstration against company management.
They were shouting slogans against Company management and demanding release of their wages. The protesting workers told that they were employed in the company and for the initial two months, salary was given to them timely and after that from last three month, no salary was given to them and they have nothing to feed their families.
They said whenever they demand salary from company, they ask them to leave the job and threaten them for termination. In some cases, even appointment letters were not issued to them till now.
It’s pertinent to mention here that in a number of cases LG directed companies to give priority to local unemployed youth in the company executing projects in JK but Dharam Raj Company not only violating this but also threatening those who are already working in the company and not providing salary to its locals employees timely.
DC Rajouri, Vikas Kundal when contacted assured that the matter will be taken up with concerned company officials for the prompt release of wages of the workers.
