JAMMU: A convoy of Amarnath Yatra was halted as Jammu-Srinagar National Highway was closed due to landslide in Ramban district.
“The Jammu-Srinagar National Highway was blocked due to landslide at Panthial in view of heavy rain,” police said.
They said that the traffic has been suspended on the highway, adding, “the convoy carrying yatris who have to perform pilgrimage via Pahalgam route had crossed the landslide hit area.”
The convoy for Baltal route has got stranded due to blocked highway, adding, “due to heavy rains, the road clearance work has not yet started.”
He said that the vehicles are stopped at Nagrota, Udhampur, Kud, Batote and will be allowed only after the road clearance. (AGENCIES)
