JAMMU, May 4: Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages and Radio Kashmir, Jammu jointly felicitated renowned theatre activist actor Kavi Rattan in a simple but impressive function, here today under its regular series of interaction and felicitation programme entitled ‘Jharokha’.
N D Jamwal, a multi -faceted personality and recipient of Sahitya Akademi Award, presided over the function whereas Dr Arvinder Singh Amn, Additional Secretary, JKAACL, V K Sambyal, Director, Radio Kashmir, Jammu and Kavi Rattan were in the presidium.
Speaking on the occasion, N D Jamwal appreciated the efforts of JKAACL and RKJ in providing opportunity to younger generation to have an interaction with one and another.
V K Sambyal said that Radio Kashmir Jammu and J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages were receiving overwhelming response for organizing such functions and new progrmmes would be organized in near future.
Mohan Singh, renowned Dogri writer, read out detailed paper on the life and works of Kavi Rattan while Ashok Gupta, Editor Dogri of the Academy, read out Citation on the occasion.
Kavi Rattan also spoke on the occasion and highlighted some important events of his life. The audience had a healthy interaction with Kavi Rattan.
Vote of thanks was presented by Dr Arvinder Singh Amn whereas Reeta Rani conducted proceedings of the programme.
Among others, present on the occasion, included Deepak Kumar, Madan Rangila, Mustaq Kak , O P Sakir, Bhopinder Singh, Rajeshwar Singh Raju, Shiv Dev Singh Manhas, Baljeet Singh Raina, Kanta Sharma, Sapana Soni, Vijay Goswami, Danesh Dogra, Sharat Sharma, Gardhari Lal Sharma and Dr Kamal Sharma.
