JAMMU, June 1: The Yol based Rising Star Corps today celebrated its 10th Raising Day.
In its short history, the Formation has carved a niche for itself, looking after a sensitive border region, with distinction. The gallant officers and men of the Corps have risen to all security challenges commendably, eliminating 14 terrorists in five terrorist-related incidents over the last two years.

The Memorial was dedicated to the gallant martyrs of the Corps by Lt Gen KJ Singh, Army Commander, Western Command on 30 May 2015 in a solemn and befitting wreath-laying ceremony.
Lt Gen AS Jamwal, the first GOC of the Rising Star Corps, and four more General Officers who have also commanded the formation, were present on the occasion, along with a large number of officers, JCOs and other ranks with their families.
