Sir,
Our country is growing at an unprecedented rate and one of the factors contributing to its growth is technology. India has made phenomenal advancements in every field and now it is on the verge of becoming an I.T giant. Modern age is the age of computers and Internet. However, consequently digitalization has taken our country to new heights but in this ever changing world that is increasingly becoming digital, it is important to protect fellow internet users from bullying, online as well as offline. We often come across cyber bullying cases on various social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Youtube et al. Bullying on the internet is indeed a very disturbing and distressing phenomenon. It has now become a growing global problem with serious consequences. The most vulnerable to this plight are the kids, school going children and college students. Generally, Cyber bullying activities include posting any kind of humiliating content of the victim, hacking the victims account, sending or posting vulgar messages online, threatening to commit acts of violence, stalking by means of calls or messages etc. Cyber bullying is such a bad practice that is causing hue and cry in the whole legal system but till date there is no special legislation to deal with such issue in India. It is the need of the hour now that some anti-bullying laws and policies should be implemented for weeding out this burning issue completely so that our young generation could be saved from this evil menace.
