The formal inauguration of the training module was conducted through video-conferencing. Launching the two-week training course, Mr Rijiju lauded the SSB for guarding the porous Indo-Nepal border.
He said the SSB has transformed itself into a specialised force which now provides training to Indians as well as personnel from across the border.
“It’s not easy to protect a border where there is no fencing and also visa or passport is not required to cross the border, but SSB has been doing great work in protecting the borders,” he added.
Chief of SSB Archana Ramasundaram who also addressed the function, said, “The new training module has been designed to refresh the critical learning elements with an aim to increase overall effectiveness and professionalism of the force and its duration would be two weeks”.
The event was webcast for wider reach to public. Mr Rijiju also released a handbook for BOP at the event.
The BOP training module is an initiative aimed to reach maximum number of personnel at the cutting edge within minimum time. The content of the module has been prepared in national language Hindi with audio-visual aid to make understanding of the module easy. (AGENCIES)
