NEW DELHI: Union Minister Kiren Rijiju today hailed the Border Security Force (BSF) for securing the frontier areas of the country as he met a group of school children from the remote areas of Jammu and Kashmir.
A group of 39 children, including 19 girls, called on the Minister of State for Home at his office here as they are on the last leg of their 20-day tour being conducted by the border guarding force.
The children hail from the Jammu region of the state and are in the age group of 12-16 years.
A statement issued by the Ministry after the meeting said while interacting with the children, Rijiju appreciated the efforts of BSF in organising the tour for the students.
“He thanked BSF for not only securing the border areas of the country but also winning the hearts of children in the border areas,” the statement said.
