JAMMU, Mar 10: All India Backward Classes Union (AIBCU) Social today said that the OBCs in Jammu and Kashmir never demanded statehood but always cried for their constitutional rights.
“What so ever be the name of the state makes no difference. Rights of the people are above all and not the name of the state,” said Abdul Majid Malik, president AIBCU while addressing executive meeting of the Union.
Malik said that political parties must work for the people, for their constitutional rights and not demand for the non issues to de-track the people and befool them.
He said after the abrogation of Art 370, the aggrieved and deprived classes were of great expectation of their constitutional rights but no political party has taken this issue seriously. “There is no change in the J&K UT after abrogation of Article 370 except the change in sign board,” he added.
The meeting resolved that to raise the issue of statehood by the political parties is of no use unless the constitutional rights of the people are restored.
