JAMMU, Apr 8: Former Minister and senior Congress leader, Mula Ram and DCC Rural President Hari Singh expressed resentment against the step-motherly treatment being given to the youth of Jammu and Kashmir by BJP led Government at the Centre.
In a statement issued here today, Mula Ram termed the amended Domicile Law for J&K as anti-youth as it is not completely giving 100 percent job protection to the J&K youth.
He mentioned that the new domicile law now entitles the outside eligible youth to apply and compete for all the posts in J&K from top to bottom including Class IV.
The former Minister asserted that the Jammu and Kashmir lacks job opportunities in Government as well as private sectors for being hilly terrain and suffering from terrorism for the last three decades.
“There was urgent need to amend and reserve all Government jobs for the youth of J&K,” he added.
Meanwhile, Hari Singh, DCC Rural President said that the J&K youth felt largely betrayed as they had been striving for the protection of their exclusive rights over jobs post abrogation of the special status of the erstwhile state but everytime they were being hoodwinked on the assurances that their rights to jobs shall be equally protected.
He said that when the entire country is passing through a strict lockdown to prevent the spread of COVID 19, once again the Government has issued a notification which is totally unacceptable to the youth of J&K and would deprive them of valuable rights to jobs in the Government sector.
Hari Singh demanded that the rights of the local youth to Government jobs should be fully protected along with rights to land under some constitutional guarantees.
He also urged the Government to ensure safety and security of all front line workers by providing all kinds of safety and personal protective equipment gears.
He advised the people to practice social distancing and maintain basic hygiene by washing hands regularly.
