SRINAGAR, Oct 4: Suspected militants today evening decamped with a service rifle of a policeman who was guarding historic Khankah-e-Moula shrine in downtown area of summer capital.
A police officer said that around three militants snatched Insas rifle from constable Sajjad Ahmad of 471 Indian Reserve Police (IRP) near the entrance of Khankah-e-Moula in congested downtown area here this evening and fled from the scene.
The officer said that a case has been registered by police in this regard and a massive manhunt has been launched to nab the rifle-snatchers. This is for the first time in recent years that suspected militants have decamped with weapon of any policeman in downtown area of the Srinagar.
