Rich tributes paid to CDS General Rawat, other brave hearts

JAMMU, Dec 10: Rich tributes were paid today to the nation’s brave hearts CDS General Bipin Rawat, his wife Mrs Madhulika Rawat, Brigadier L S Lidder, Lieutenant Colonel H Singh, Wing Commander P S Chauhan, Squadron Leader K Singh, Junior Warrant Officer (JWO) Das, JWO Pradeep, Havildar Satpal, Naik Gursewak Singh, Naik Jitender, Lance Naik Vivek and Lance Naik S Teja who lost their lives in a tragic helicopter crash on Wednesday.
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha paid his last respects to the Chief of Defense Staff (CDS) General Bipin Rawat and his wife, Madhulika Rawat at New Delhi. “A truly extraordinary leader, soldier and human being, General Bipin Rawat embodied the highest ideals of Armed Forces. My thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends and colleagues”, the Lt Governor said.
A Shradhanjali Sabha was organized by J&K Pradesh Youth Congress (JKPYC) at Gen Zorawar Singh Chowk in which senior Congress leaders including Ex-Minister RS Chib, Thakur Jai Singh and Gourav Chopra Corporator paid rich tributes to the deceased brave hearts. While paying homage, Chib highlighted the herculean contributions of CDS General Rawat in strengthening and modernizing the nation’s defence system. Two minutes silence was also observed on the occasion in memory of the departed souls.
Shiv Sena J&K unit also paid homage and tributes to the nation’s topmost defence officer and other brave hearts. A large number of Shiv Sainiks under the leadership of party president Manish Sahni gathered at Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Chowk, Amphalla, where they lighted 101 lamps in memory of the departed souls. They also observed two minutes silence and prayed to God for granting peace to all the souls who died in this air mishap.
Dogra Sadar Sabha (DSS) J&K organized “Shardhanjali Samaroh” at Sabha Bhawan Jammu to pay rich tributes to General Bipin Rawat, his wife and eleven other brave hearts. Gulchain Singh Charak (president DSS), all executive committee members lighted candles in memory of the departed souls and observed two minutes silence. They prayed to God for peace and Sadgati to the departed souls and also for early recovery of Group Captain Varun Singh, who was critically injured in the crash.
BJP paid floral tribute to CDS Vipin Rawat, his wife and all other officers who lost their lives in a helicopter crash, at BJP district headquarters Doda. After paying floral tribute, party leader and convener J&K Vistarak Yojana Pawan Sharma and others prayed for peace to the departed souls.
Kargil (Ladakh) unit of BJP paid rich tributes to late CDS General Bipin Rawat and others at Lal Chowk, Kargil. On the occasion, Mohd Hassan Pasha (media secretary UT of Ladakh) along with SHO Bazar Kargil Mohd Shamim Malik, Mohd Hussain (BJYM state vice president), Haji Nissar Roati (senior BJP leader) and Mohd Javid paid floral tributes to all the brave hearts.
In a Shardanjali Samaroh, Traders Federation Ware House (Nehru Market, Jammu) paid homage and tributes to General Bipin Rawat, his wife and 11 other personnel of Armed Forces who died in helicopter crash. Deepak Gupta (president) and all other office bearers were present in the Shardanjali Samaroh. After laying floral tributes, Two minutes of silence was observed in the memory of departed souls and prayers were made to the Almighty to grant heavenly peace to the departed souls.
