NEW DELHI, Dec 10:Rice basmati prices strengthened by up to Rs 100 per quintal at the wholesale grains market today due tight stocks position following restricted supplies from producing belts.
However, other grains remained steady in thin trade.
Traders said besides rising demand from retailers, tight stocks position on fall in supplies from producing regions mainly kept rice basmati prices higher.
In the national capital, rice basmati common and Pusa-1121 variety rose by Rs 100 and Rs 50 to Rs 6,200-6,300 and Rs 4,850-6,050 per quintal, respectively.

Basmati rice (Lal Quila) Rs 10,700, Shri Lal Mahal Rs 11,300, Super Basmati Rice Rs 9,700, Basmati common new Rs 6,200-6,300, Rice Pusa (1121) Rs 4,850-6,050, Permal raw Rs 2,050-2,075, Permal wand Rs 2,150-2,200, Sela Rs 2,800-2,900 and Rice IR-8 Rs 1,850-1,860, Bajra Rs 1,470-1,475, Jowar yellow Rs 1,750-1,800, white Rs 3,500-3,700, Maize Rs 1,580-1,590, Barley Rs 1,795-1,820.
