RGCN holds BLS, AED workshop

JAMMU, Jan 20: Rajiv Gandhi College of Nursing Jammu organized a one day training workshop on Basic Life Support (BLS) & Automated External Defibrillator (AED) here today.
Basic Life Support (BLS) is the term used to describe a level of care that can be given to patients with life-threatening illnesses or injuries by trained medical professionals, such as emergency medical technicians and paramedics, until they can receive full hospital care.
All Nursing students including Nursing Faculty were present and actively participated and updated their knowledge on BLS & AED with appropriate hands on skills. The programme was conducted with great enthusiasm by conducting scientific sessions by Dr Shalini Bernard, Chief Nursing Officer Max Hospital Dehradun on Nursing Journey towards clinical practice. Then simulation sessions were held by Deepak Kapoor, Manager clinical Training Max Healthcare, and Health System Strengthening- University of Melbourne for the delegates. Feedback was obtained from the delegates and the delegates assured that they shall utilize the skill gained whenever and wherever needed in the clinical setting and they also addressed that the programme was highly beneficial to them. At the end of the session, certificates were distributed to the delegates.
Anjana Bavouria, Director RGCN expressed heartfelt appreciation for the significant role played by the resource persons Dr Shalini Bernard & Deepak Kapoor. At last vote of thanks delivered by Sonia Nanda, Associate Professor, RGCN. Principal RGCN, Rafiqa Bashir praised the faculty of RGCN, for organising this workshop. She emphasized how such training is not just a skill but a crucial element in the chain of saving lives.
