JAMMU, Jan 10: All Jammu and Kashmir Panchayat Conference (AJKPC), the premier body of elected PRI representatives, has once again made a fervent appeal to the Union Ministry of Defence, Indian Army and Jammu and Kashmir Government to revive reservation in jobs for the local youth in 15 Field Ammunition Depot Jindrah, situated in Panchayat Halqa Kanyala in block Dansal of district Jammu.
While addressing the locals of the block Dansal, here today, Anil Sharma- the president of AJKPC who is also Sarpanch of Panchayat Halqa Jindrah, said that his organization won’t sit quite and will ensure that promised reservation and quota for the native youth of the area in this 15 Field Ammunition Depot is implemented.
“These villagers had given agricultural land on lease to the Government for establishment of the Ammunition depot and then they were promised that at least 25 percent local youth would be engaged as labourers in every recruitment stage in the depot and that was continued for long but now for the last over a decade the administration of this field depot has retracted and deliberately the youth of these areas are left out and no reservation or priority is given to them in recruitment,” he said.
The participants in the gathering also demanded release of the rent of the land and payment of the arrears which are not paid regularly for the last 4-5 years.
It was also deliberated in the meeting that if their genuine demands are not considered at an earliest, then they may consider to stage sit in Dharna outside office of Deputy Commissioner Jammu as well as outside the main gate of 15 FAD, Jindrah.
Besides Anil Sharma, the prominent people who attended the meeting included Balak Ram, Balwant Singh, Gopal Krishan, Gopal Dass, Om Prakash, Som Dutt, Munshi Ram, Rekhi Ram, Mool Raj, Mohan Lal, Vijay Kumar, Lakhman Singh, Gardhari Singh, Puran Singh, Raj Singh, Sat Pal Gardhari Lal, Pido Ram, Baldev Singh, Chunni Lal, Parshotam Dutt, Mohammed Shan, Sher Ali, Beli Mistri, Kaka Ram, Ved Prakash, Sanjay Kumar, Vishawa Nath and Mohammed Kasam.
