JAMMU: In pursuance of the directions of the High Court regarding conduct of Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee(s) (GPC) elections in Jammu and Kashmir, the Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Syed Basharat Bukhari, chaired a meeting at the Civil Secretariat here.
The meeting was attended by Financial Commissioner (Revenue), Secretary, Law and Additional Commissioner Jammu.
The Minister emphasized that the Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee(s) elections will be conducted in a free and fare atmosphere for which he directed that the necessary arrangements be put in place.
Consequently a revised schedule for the conduct of elections to Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee(s) has been issued under which the publication of draft delimitation has been scheduled from March 20, 2015, Final publication of delimitation from April 18, 2015, publication of draft Electoral Rolls from May 12, 2015, publication of final electoral Rolls on June 2, 2015, issuance of Election Notification on June 3, 2015, filing of nomination papers from June 5, 2015, last date of filing of nominations on June 12, 2015, affixing of list of candidate on notice boards on June 13, 2015, scrutiny of papers from June 16, 2015, last date for withdrawal of candidature would be on June 19, 2015, allotments of symbol will take place from June 20, 2015, last date for campaigning would be on July 5, 2015, while as revised date for elections has been fixed on July 8, 2015.
