JAMMU, May 28: President of the National Mazdoor Conference (NMC), Subash Shastri today appealed to the Chief Minister to review the decision taken recently by the State Government with regard to the payment of 7th Pay Commission arrears in three instalments in favor of State pensioners.
Shastri, as per earlier decision, the arrears were paid in three instalments, but the same has been revised for the age group of 80 years pensioners who are to be paid arrears in one instalment, it would be in the fitness of things if all the pensioners of all age groups are treated with one yard stick. Shastri said this while addressing a NMC workers meet at village Kanjali.
He said that once an employee gets retired from Government service, he remains totally dependent on his pension, as good will gesture, the State Government should  also give the 7th Pay Commission  arrears to State pensioners in one go so that the pensioners would get sigh of relief from rising prices and inflation.
