JAMMU, May 21: A Revenue official in tehsil Bishnah was today caught red handed by Vigilance sleuths while accepting bribe.
The accused, namely Baj Singh, was presently posted as Incharge Patwari Halqa Karyal Brahmana. He was caught red handed while demanding and accepting a bribe from the complaint Sunil Sharma of Chak Patyari, Bishnah for issuance of Fard.
In his complaint, Sunil Sharma alleged that the Patwari Chak Patyari, Bishnah had demanded Rs 8000 as illegal gratification from him for issuance of Fard.
He had already paid Rs 2500 to the said official under compelling circumstances and balance amount of Rs 5500 was to be paid today.
Acting on the complaint, Vigilance Organization Jammu laid a trap under the supervision of SSP VOJ, Rupender Kumar Chalotra and caught the official red handed while accepting bribe money. He was arrested and a case FIR number 13/2014 under Section 5(2) J&K PC Act 2006 & 161 RPC was registered in this connection.
The Vigilance team was headed by V K Bhat, Dy SP and comprised of Inspt Zaffer Amin, Inspt Kamal Sangra and Inspt Ashok Singh.
