JAMMU, Apr 15: The Revenue Department with a view to break nexus of the officers has decided to ensure that no officer overstays on the post while effecting transfers.
“Overstay, complaints, work culture, efficiency etc will be deciding factors in the transfers. Similar were the yardsticks adopted during recent transfers,” sources told the Excelsior.
Sources said the new Revenue Secretary has adopted a complete transparent system for effecting transfers of the officers which will ensure that the Revenue department works with honesty, efficiency and transparency and people don’t face any inconvenience in obtaining documents and their issues are settled well in time.
Sources said recent transfers in the Revenue department were also outcome of an extensive exercise undertaken by the Secretary in which overstay of the officers, complaints and other issues were taken into consideration.
Even the places of new postings were decided taking new criteria into consideration, they added.
In future also, sources pointed out, the transfers of Revenue officers will be carried out in complete transparent manner taking into account various parameters including their working on previous posts, nature of complaints etc.
The Revenue Department authorities are confident that under the new system put in place the people will not face any inconvenience while visiting different offices of the Revenue department to avail facilities available to them.
“Performance of the officers will also be crucial factors while effecting their transfers in future. No leniency will be shown to the officers against whom there are complaints or whose working is not up to the mark,”  sources said.
They added that a mechanism has been put in place to monitor working of the Revenue officers at different places.
“A system has been put in place in which efficiency of the officers working at different places across the Union Territory will be assessed,” the sources said.
