I would like to draw the attention towards news items “RET Teacher fails to write essay on cow” DE May 17 and “Teacher sacked for fake degree”.
It is a matter of great concern that the Education Department which is responsible to provide quality education to the students of our state is in a State of sorry affairs. The so called teachers who got appointment through RET process and then got confirmed after period of service as teacher on fake degrees are playing with the future of students of our State.
The school children are the future of a nation and our nation is in the of teachers who don’t know how to write essay on cow. The education system needs some reforms to curb such malpractices.
The prospect of student community is at stake if such kind of teaching is imparted in our educational institutions.
In order to restore the faith of parents and students the action taken by Director of school education recently is commendable, but much of work is yet to be done.
In order to arrest further deterioration in education department and to stop people from doing such activity, documental verification of all the candidates who are working in education department should be done. Department of school education should set an example by sacking all the fictitious degree holders. And action should be initiated against them.
Further, it is requested to the concerned authorities that with the help of a committee a screening test should be conducted for all RET teachers with minimum qualifying marks to get into permanent services.
