Srinagar, May 4: The Jammu and Kashmir Rehbar-e-Taleem Teachers Forum (JKReTTF) today said that they will go on two- day hunger strike from May 7 to press for their demands.
“A meeting of the JKReTTF was held here at Lal Chowk today in which it decided to organize a hunger strike on May 7 and 8 at Pratap Park, against the non-payment of their salaries”, the spokesman of JKReTTF said in a statement here today.
The teachers also warned the Deputy Commissioner of Kupwara of dire consequences for excluding the teaching community from the Committee framed under order 23-DCK/Adm of 2015 which will look after the welfare of schools and demanded to immediately include the teaching community in the same, the statement said.
The teachers appealed all zonal presidents to make the hunger strike on May 7 and 8, a success.
